If being a celebrity is so great, why does it put so much stress on celebrities? Celebrities can’t do everyday things without being noticed and photographed. People who are famous may become extremely stressed, and they may turn to drugs and alcohol. I would not like to be famous because it puts a great amount of stress on people. Being famous can bring a lot of stress, and that can lead to trouble. "If being a celebrity is so great, why are so many of them, well, kind of messed up? Take Justin Bieber. By age 16, he was cranking out chart-topping hits and earning millions of dollars on sold-out concert tours. Lately, however, it seems like the 22-year-old has been spending most of his time apologizing for his bad behavior." Justin Bieber has been arrested for drunk driving and was charged with vandalization. “Look at Shia LaBeouf. Once a star of hit movies like Transformers, LaBeouf is now known mostly for bizarre public meltdowns and struggles with drugs and alcohol.” People who are famous turn to drugs and alcohol to “relieve” the stress of being famous. The truth is drugs and alcohol don’t help with stress, and they can hurt your health bad. When using drugs, after one use you can become addicted to them. Most people think being famous will make them happy because all of the amazing perks. People who become famous have lots of money and many high-class things. They get front row seats at fancy award shows and they get clothes from top designers. "Plus, she gets amazing perks, like free clothes from top designers, front-row seats at prestigious award shows, and trips around the world." People think money will make them truly happy, but money doesn’t make you truly happy. “According to a study at the University of Rochester in New York, true happiness derives from having close relationships, time to focus on personal growth, and connections to your community.” Even though you get amazing perks and lots of money, the happiness of being famous will fade away. Most famous people can’t do everyday things without being noticed. "Famous people can't so much as walk their dogs or tie their shoes without being gawked at, photographed, tweeted about, or Instagrammed." Paparazzi invade celebrities personal space and can be extremely annoying. Celebrities can’t go out with friends without being noticed by fans and photographed. Celebrities also have to question if their friends like them just because they’re famous, or if they actually like them for the person that they are. “But according to Rockwell, it can be difficult for a celebrity to trust others and to make and keep true friends. Stars have to wonder if their “friends” like them for who they are or for what they have.” I would not like to be famous because it puts a great amount of stress on people. Celebrities can become stressed and that will hurt their mental health. Just because people get amazing perks doesn’t mean they’re happy. Paparazzi can be annoying and celebrities can’t do much without being noticed. Over break I did a few exciting things with my family and had a fun time. I celebrated Christmas with my family and got to see my friends. We had a Christmas at four of my grandma and grandpa’s house. I got many things from them and I got most of what I wanted. I had fun hanging out and celebrating Christmas with my family. We played games and a great time overall. For most of winter break I was sick and I felt awful. I began to feel sick the first day we had no school. My family and I assumed it was just a cold, so my mom just gave me medicine. I had a bad fever and my throat was extremely sore. When it had gotten worse and the medicine was no longer helping my mom took me to see a doctor. The doctor told us I had strep throat and gave me pills to help beat the sickness. It was hard for me to take the pills at first because they were so big. I slept a lot for the first few days of winter break and I had a weird sleeping schedule. One day I slept all day and stayed up all night. I normally fell asleep around 7:00 P.M. and I would wake up around 4:00 A.M. Even though I was sick I still did many exciting things with my family and friends. We celebrated Christmas and had a great time. I got many of the things I wanted and afterwards we went to my grandmas house. I got many gifts and a gift card to Best Buy. One thing that we did over break was played against each other on an NBA game for the Playstation 4. I was the only one to beat my older brother and we had a great time hanging out. When I had gotten over most of my sickness I was able to go to Dana’s house. The first time I could have gone to her house I had to cancel because I was sick. We were finally able to exchange gifts and we had a great time. She got me a pair of socks and a necklace. Overall, it was a pretty good break and I wish it wouldn’t have gone by so fast. |
