You may have had factory made ice cream, but have you had homemade ice cream? Ice cream is easy to make and has health benefits!
Ice cream has a long history of importance to mankind. According to The History Of Ice Cream, "No specific person has officially been credited with inventing ice cream. It’s origins date back as far as 200 B.C. when people in China created a dish of rice mixed with milk that was then frozen by being packed in snow. The Chinese King Tang of Shang is thought to have had over ninety “ice men” who mixed flour, camphor, and buffalo milk with ice.” Ice men are men that cut ice in early China. China used ice to build ice houses, cool foods, and made ice cream with it. The Chinese people were credited with the creation. Ice cream was first invented in 200 B.C. and it is currently 2017 A.D. That means ice cream has been around for about 2,217 years! Making ice cream is easy and has only a few steps. According to 5 Step Easy Ice Cream, “To make homemade ice cream you will need, ½ cup of cold milk, ⅛ teaspoon of salt, 1 pint of heavy cream, 1 tablespoon vanilla extract, and 1 (14 ounce) can of sweetened condensed milk.” In a medium bowl, stir together cold milk, vanilla extract, condensed milk and salt. Set this bowl aside, you will need it later. Next, in a large bowl, beat heavy cream with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form. Fold milk mixture into whipped cream. Finally, Pour into shallow 2 quart dish, cover and freeze for 4 hours, stirring once after 2 hours or when edges start to harden. Serve or store in an airtight container up to 10 days. Make sure you stir it or it will not turn out correctly. Store it in a freezer so it will not melt. In addition to its enjoyment, there are many health benefits to ice cream. Calcium is extremely helpful to our body, it helps us have strong bones. Ice cream is easy to make and has health benefits! Ice cream originated in China, and has been around for a long time. Making homemade is pretty easy, and has a small number of steps. Even though ice cream is considered unhealthy, it has many health benefits that help the human body.
